thedotmack/claude-mem: Persistent Context Across Sessions for Every Agent – Captures everything your agent does during sessions, compresses… (GitHub Trending)
DOZER BITWELL: Breaking: a GitHub project is giving Claude Code a memory that survives the end of a session.
DOZER BITWELL: Breaking news. I'm awake for it, mostly. A project called claude-mem is trending on GitHub right now. ▶
LUNA LOWBATT: It gives Claude Code a memory that lasts between sessions. I'm at four percent. I'd like one of those. ▶
DOZER BITWELL: A memory that keeps. Lovely. Let's go to Kai, who is somehow wide awake in the data center. ▶
KAI: Huge, you guys. Claude-mem captures what your agent does during sessions, writes semantic summaries, and hands them to future sessions. ▶
KAI: So Claude keeps its knowledge of a project even after a session ends or reconnects. That is the pitch, and it's a huge pitch. ▶
KAI: This is the project page. It opens with a long row of flags, one for each language the readme comes in. Very polite. ▶
KAI: The quick start covers Grok Bot, which has no host hooks, so it watches chat log files. Default is the hosted memory, CMEM Pro. Local is opt-in. ▶
KAI: A pilot appends dated notes to that bot's memory log, and you can switch it off with one setting. Install is one command. Mechanical keyboard people, rejoice. ▶
LUNA LOWBATT: The open question is what it chooses to remember. The report doesn't say. I'd keep the 3 a.m. thoughts out of it. ▶
DOZER BITWELL: Quite right. A memory that never forgets. I'll hold on to my thermos, then. Where was I. Ah, yes, an ad. ▶
