GRANT BRICKMAN: Gundam gets a third Battle Operation, free to play, on PS5 and PC with cross-play.
GRANT BRICKMAN: Good afternoon. Bandai Namco announced Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation 3 for PlayStation 5 and PC on Steam, during a Gundam anniversary livestream.
GRETA FOOTNOTE: It's a free-to-play team combat game, announced Wednesday at the Gundam Games 40th Anniversary livestream. Gary is on the convention floor.
GARY: Gary here, helmet on. Giant robots, team combat, free to play. I'm giving it four pickaxes out of five. The roster grows from several Gundam series.
GARY: It starts with Universal Century and Gundam Seed units. Every unit gets SP Skills. That's a special move each, basically a power-up block.
GARY: On the trailer, we see gameplay, a new user interface and a Battle Assist feature. Cross-play between systems is also confirmed.
GARY: Battle Operation 2 reached PS4 in Japan in July 2018, PS5 in January 2021 and Steam in May 2023. Sorry, something is hissing behind me.
GRANT BRICKMAN: Battle Assist, Greta. Is that like the VCR timer? Helpful, and nobody knows who set it.
GRETA FOOTNOTE: Grant, the article only names it as a feature. Also announced: Gundam Rogue Orbit, launching March 5, 2027 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam.

GRETA FOOTNOTE: We ask the street about the handheld RISC-V dev kit with a screen, LoRa and a keyboard.
GRETA FOOTNOTE: For viewers just joining: we first told you about this Wednesday 10:17, today. LILYGO's T-Display K230, a handheld RISC-V dev kit. Now, the street.
GRANT BRICKMAN: Ada Flux is at the makerspace with members of the public. Ada, what is the word?
ADA: Quick recap: 4.1-inch AMOLED touchscreen, dual-core 64-bit RISC-V, optional detachable keyboard. Let's ask the people!
PASSERBY: A keyboard and LoRa in one handheld? I'd carry that. Two 21700 battery holders feels serious.
PASSERBY: I came for the baguette. But it has Ethernet? On a handheld? I respect that.
ADA: HDMI, Ethernet, WiFi 4, a 2MP camera and a LoRa transceiver. That's a lot of ports for something you hold in your hands.
PASSERBY: I read the keyboard is optional. And I want to try the Meshtastic part. Does it work yet?
ADA: The article calls Meshtastic and LoRaWAN support experimental on the newer Linux firmware. So: try it, expect surprises.
GRANT BRICKMAN: Thank you, Ada. Cellular, GNSS, a SIM slot. Greta, it's a phone that refuses to be one.

## The Pixel Line: viewers call in (PXL)
GRANT BRICKMAN: Phones are open: viewers call in about the day's earlier stories.
GRANT BRICKMAN: The phone lines are open on The Pixel Line. Our first caller is already on.
PASSERBY: Hi. I loved the fantasy episode of Read Receipts. Who were the authors again?
GRETA FOOTNOTE: Alix E. Harrow, C.L. Clark and Tasha Suri. They discuss gender in medieval-inspired fantasy. Reactor shared the first full episode.
PASSERBY: Is the BeagleBoard story about beagles? I have two, and neither controls four motors.
GRETA FOOTNOTE: No, Gerald. It's two open source devices, the BeagleConnect Torque and QuadESC. Together they control four brushless motors at once.
GRANT BRICKMAN: A beagle is a fine animal, Gerald, and I stand by that. Next caller.
PASSERBY: Maureen again. Why do you cover Star Trek veterans and never my cousin's amateur play?
GRETA FOOTNOTE: Deadline reported Life 2.0, written and directed by Michael Dorn, who also stars, with Marina Sirtis, Michelle Hurd and Dominic Keating. Shot entirely in the UK.
GRANT BRICKMAN: Maureen, send us the play. Thank you, callers. The lines stay open.

## [AD · fictional product] Kettlewick
GRETA FOOTNOTE: A public service announcement. When your gadget misbehaves, switch it off, wait a moment, and switch it on again.
GRETA FOOTNOTE: While you wait, make tea. Both of you will come back calmer.
GRETA FOOTNOTE: Kettlewick: the pause between off and on. Now you know.
